Marauders Win: 39 - 13
Following Tuesday’s lackluster performance, the JV Lady Marauders came out firing on all cylinders tonight against the Hornets of New Lothrop, finishing out the season with a 39-13 victory.
“I can’t begin to state how proud I am of all of these girls and all the progress they’ve made this season,” Coach Belill stated. “While we had our ups and downs at times, they showed up every day to practice with a smile on their faces and ready to work to get better – and as a coach you can’t ask for anything more than that.”
Ovid-Elsie would build upon a 13-2 1st quarter advantage and go into halftime with a 22-7 halftime lead. Defensive pressure and surgical-like execution on the offensive end would help crush any Hornet hope from the beginning. The Marauders would outscore New Lothrop 8-2 and 9-4 to finish out the 3rd and 4th quarters, respectively.
While OE would limit their turnovers, they were able to force 28 from New Lothrop – 17 being steals. Top that off with assisting on 11/17 made shots, and out rebounding the Hornets 25-14 and you have one heck of a way to close out a season.
Aubrey Kurka would lead the charge for OE with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. El Carman would rebound well from a tough Tuesday night with 7 points, 3 steals, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds. Maddie Thornton (6 rebounds, 4 steals) and Tava Kvalevog (3 rebounds) would add 6 points each, while Trinity Ziola (5 rebounds) added 5 points as well. Natalie Stoneman (2 rebounds) added 3 points, with Hailie McCreery and Sophia Sweet rounded out the scoring with 2 points each.
The win completes the JV season for the ladies, finishing out at 15-4 and a perfect 11-0 in the MMAC. Great job and congratulations on an awesome season ladies!
The Varsity Lady Marauders finish out their season Friday at New Lothrop before hosting districts next week. OE holds the #1 seed and will have a bye on Monday before taking on the winner of Corunna-Flint Hamady on Wednesday @ 5:30 PM.

JV Ladies Fall to Goodrich, 18-34

Marauders Lose: 18 - 34
The JV Lady Marauders fell to the Goodrich Martians 18-34 to move to 14-4 (10-0 MMAC) on the season with one game remaining. A strong start by the Marauders in the 1st and early 2nd quarters could not be sustained throughout the night.
"We did a good job early on of getting good looks and putting some pressure on [Goodrich], but didn't follow through for the whole game," state Coach Belill. "Give Goodrich all the credit in the world - they adjusted well to what we threw at them while we didn't."
A 11-4 lead early in the 2nd quarter dissipated on the Marauders as mental mistakes plagued them for the remainder of the half - eventually seeing the Martians score on a last second layup to take the lead 12-11 into the half. Rebounding issues reared their head in the 1st half as well, with the Martians pulling down 10 offensive rebounds.
The 2nd half saw the Marauders pick their effort back up, but the Martians extended their lead with a 12-7 scoring advantage in the 3rd quarter before slamming shut any OE chances at a comeback by outscoring the Marauders 10-0 in the final stanza.
Maddie Thornton led OE in scoring with 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Aubrey Kurka (4 rebounds) and Trinity Ziola (2 rebounds, 2 steals) both added 5 points each, while Tava Kvalevog capped the scoring with 2 points and 4 rebounds.
The JV ladies finish out the season at home this Thursday when they face league rival New Lothrop. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 PM.

Marauders Win: 23 - 16
Auburn Hills Oakland Christian came to town with three games remaining in the final week of the season for the JV Lady Marauders. In the end, Ovid-Elsie would come out on top 23-16 to move their record to 14-3 (10-0 MMAC).
After taking a 9-5 lead after the 1st quarter, OE would blank the Lancers in the 2nd stanza to take a 12-5 lead into halftime. Following a rough 3rd quarter that saw the Lancers outscore the Marauders 7-3, the ladies would close out the game with an 8-4 4th quarter.
“While we struggled for stretches here and there throughout the game, the girls did an awesome job on the defensive end overall,” Coach Belill added after the game. “I think the final minute of the 2nd quarter helps to show that the best – where we played over a minute of solid defense straight without giving up a shot going into the locker room. That’s what we pride ourselves on, and the girls have continued to work their butts off getting to that point.”
Turnovers plagued both teams throughout the game, with both teams netting 19 steals each on the night. Ovid-Elsie would also help their defensive efforts by out rebounding the Lancers on the night, 26-15.
El Carman would lead all Marauder scorers with 9 points, 4 steals, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Aubrey Kurka would add 7 points (5 rebounds, 3 steals), with Hailie McCreery (2 steals), Tava Kvalevog (2 rebounds), and Trinity Ziola (4 rebounds) also adding in 2 points each. Maddie Thornton (9 rebounds, 2 steals) would finish out the Marauder scoring on the night with a free throw.
The JV Lady Marauders have a quick turnaround, with a trip to perennial girls basketball powerhouse Goodrich today (Tuesday) before returning home on Thursday to finish out the season against New Lothrop. Today’s game is a JV-Varsity double header, with JV kicking off the action at 5:30PM. Thursday’s game is a triple-header with the Freshmen boys taking on PW at 4PM to start action before the JV teams take on New Lothrop at 5:30PM (Girls) and 7:00PM (Boys).

Marauders Win: 29 - 13
Playing their second game in consecutive days, the JV Lady Marauders continued how they ended Tuesday and used a strong defensive effort to help defeat Chesaning 29-13. The win makes the JV ladies 13-3 (10-0 MMAC) with only 3 games remaining.
An 11-0 1st quarter was the result of defensive pressure and good passing overall - with OE taking a 16-2 lead into halftime. While the Indians made more of a run in the 3rd quarter, OE still outscored them 11-8 before finishing off the final stanza with Chesaning outscoring OE 2-3.
"I was happy with the way the team played defensively overall throughout the night," Coach Belill stated. "It's been a work in progress throughout the season, and it's awesome to see things start to click on the defensive end for the team."
Beyond solid defense, Ovid-Elsie would out rebound the Indians 30-7, while turning them over 23 times on the night - 12 of those being steals.
El Carman paced the Marauders with 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Tava Kvalevog (5 points), Maddie Thornton (4 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals), Aubrey Kurka (3 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists), Haylee Palus (2 points, 2 steals), Natalie Stoneman (2 points), and Trinity Ziola (2 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists) rounded out the scoring.
With Mt. Morris not having a JV team, the ladies will be off until next week before they finish out with 3 games in 4 days (Home vs. Oakland Christian Monday, at Goodrich Tuesday, and home vs. New Lothrop on Thursday) to end the season. All games are slated for 5:30 PM starts.

Marauders Win: 26 - 19
The Mt. Pleasant Oilers came to town and were defeated by the JV Lady Marauders tonight, 26-19. With the win, the ladies move to 12-3 (9-0 MMAC) on the season.
A gritty defensive effort led the way for OE - who stole the ball 18 times on 36 Oiler turnovers. Despite falling behind 2-8 early, and 6-10 after the 1st quarter, the Marauders turned up the defensive pressure to limit the Oilers to single digits in each of the remaining 3 stanzas. Better offensive execution after the 1st quarter also helped "right the ship", as OE would go into halftime only down 15-16.
"While we struggled to get any rhythm early in the game, I thought we settled in well after the 1st quarter before we really fixed our execution issues and continued to play staunch defensively in the 2nd half," Coach Belill stated. "Our post players did an excellent job defensively tonight making sure their big girls struggled to get the ball inside."
The 3rd quarter saw the Marauders break out with a 9-1 scoring advantage, before holding off the Oilers - with either team only posting 2 points in the 4th quarter - to finish out the game.
Ovid-Elsie was led in scoring by El Carman with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists. Trinity Ziola added 6 points, while Aubrey Kurka (5 points, 2 steals), Maddie Thornton (4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists), and Tava Kvalevog (2 points) rounded out the scoring.
The JV ladies have a quick turn around, with Chesaning coming to town tomorrow for a conference matchup scheduled for 5:30 PM.

Marauders Win: 23 - 2
The JV Lady Marauders topped Lakeville 23-2 in a conference matchup that helped move OE to 11-3 (9-0 MMAC) on the season. Despite a dismal shooting performance (19% from the field), the ladies stood strong on the defensive end against the Railroaders.
“We really struggled to put the ball in the hoop overall as a team tonight,” Coach Belill stated, “but defensively we did well overall and we limited our turnovers as a team, too.”
Despite the struggles shooting, OE would turn the Railroaders over 29 times (19 of them steals), out rebound them by a 35-28 margin, and assist on 7 of 10 made baskets.
Hailie McCreery did an awesome job of keeping a shooter’s mentality throughout the overall team shooting slump and ended up with 7 points to lead the team. Haylee Palus (5 steals, 4 rebounds), El Carman (5 steals, 4 rebounds, 2 assists), and Trinity Ziola (2 rebounds) each added 4 points. Katie Thornton (3 rebounds, 2 steals) and Aubrey Kurka (3 rebounds, 2 blocks) rounded out the scoring with 2 points each.

Marauders Win: 35 - 13
The JV Lady Marauders turned Lakeville over 37 times, and out rebounded the Falcons 32-15 enroute to another MMAC victory 35-13 to make their record 10-3 (8-0 MMAC) with just over 2 weeks remaining in the JV season.
Every Lady Marauder contributed solid minutes against the Falcons, while still maintaining great defensive effort and offensive execution. OE would also see 10-12 players see the scoring column within the game - with Aubrey Kurka once again leading OE with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists.
"It was awesome to see everyone contribute tonight - whether that was scoring, rebounding, assists, or defensively getting after it," Coach Belill added post game. "With having Durand at home tomorrow for our third game in four days, getting to rotate the players through hopefully will help save our legs some, too."
Scoring for the Lady Marauders would be rounded out with El Carman (5 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals), Haylee Palus (4 points, 6 steals), Trinity Ziola (4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals), Mikayla Bashore (3 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals), Kathryn Thornton (3 points, 2 rebounds), Tava Kvalevog (2 points, 2 assists, 2 steals), and Maddie Thornton (5 rebounds) & Sophia Sweet (2 rebounds) both chipping in 1 free throw each.
Action picks back up tomorrow night at home against Durand starting at 5:30 PM.

Marauders Win: 33 - 11
The JV Lady Marauders put forth great effort all night as they defeated the Montrose Rams 33-11 to move to 9-3 (7-0 MMAC).
Despite being off the past five days due to snow days and Mid-Winter break, the ladies put forth great effort and executed well on both the offensive and defensive ends. Ovid-Elsie would hold a 36-18 rebound advantage, turn the Rams over 28 times, and assist on 11 of 13 baskets.
"For having as much down time as we had this past week, I was happy with both our effort and execution overall," state Coach Belill. "The girls deserve all of the credit - they came out and played hard for 32 minutes tonight and stayed focused throughout."
The Marauders would jump out to an 11-0 lead to start the game and never look back, as they blanked the Rams in the 2nd stanza, while never allowing more than 4 points in a single quarter.
Aubrey Kurka finished with a double-double: managing 10 points and 12 rebounds, while also grabbing 2 steals. El Carman followed with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Maddie Thornton (6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks); Trinity Ziola (4 points, 3 rebounds); Katie Thornton (3 points, 3 rebounds); and Sophia Sweet (2 points on 2-2 FT's) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Marauders.
The JV Lady Marauder's busy week continues this Wednesday home vs. Lakeville, before turning right back around and hosting Durand on Thursday. Both games are scheduled to tip off at 5:30 PM.
JV Girls Fall to Perry 32-42

Marauders Lose: 32 - 42
The JV Lady Marauders 8 game win streak came to an end tonight, as they fell to the Perry Ramblers 32-42. The loss moves OE to 8-3 (6-0 MMAC) on the season. It was a game of runs, as well as a game of responding to those runs. Unfortunately, tonight Perry responded more consistently than the Marauders.
"I feel like we came out with energy and executed well at the start of the game," Coach Belill added following the game. "Unfortunately we shot ourselves in the foot too many times, and our defensive effort and rebounding was lacking for much of the 2nd half."
Ovid-Elsie would jump out to an early lead (22-16) after two quarters, but struggle to keep their momentum going after halftime, as they would give up 16 points in the 3rd quarter. Twenty-eight Marauder turnovers (only 7 of which were Rambler steals), giving up 12 offensive rebounds, and a lack of spark in the 2nd half would shut the door on the Marauders chances to closeout the game.
"Despite all of the issues we inflicted upon ourselves, we pulled within 4 points by the end of the 3rd quarter, and even cut it down to 2 points in the first minute of the 4th," state Belill, "but without that killer instinct to finish out the game, we allowed our opportunities to slip away."
Aubrey Kurka led all OE scorers with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Haylee Palus (7 points, 3 assists, 2 steals) and El Carman (6 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals) wouldn't be far behind in the scoring column. Scoring was rounded out by Hailie McCreery (5 points), Tava Kvalevog (4 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals), and Trinity Ziola (1 point).
The JV Lady Marauders are back in action this Thursday, as they'll welcome the Chesaning Indians to town for a MMAC rematch. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 PM.
JV Ladies Defeat Byron 28-12

Marauders Win: 28 - 12
The JV Lady Marauders improved to 8-2 (6-0 MMAC) after defeating the Byron Eagles this evening 28-12. While it was a rough 1st half for the ladies, they finished strong in the 2nd half to pull away with the victory.
Ovid-Elsie struggled to get any rhythm in the 1st half as they struggled with self-inflicted wounds. The Marauders would turn the ball over 23 times, with over half of those being unforced errors. Despite their own struggles, OE was able to keep the Eagles at bay - turning them over 36 times on the night (including 20 steals), and out rebounding the visitors by a 34-24 margin.
"Watching how undisciplined we were at times in the 1st half, it was nice to see the ladies respond better in the 2nd half to finish out this game," Coach Belill added post game.
Aubrey Kurka led the Lady Marauders in scoring with 8 points and 5 rebounds, while Haylee Palus (5 steals, 4 rebounds, 2 assists) and Katie Thornton (4 steals) both added 6 points each. Maddie Thornton (7 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 blocks) and Tava Kvalevog (5 rebounds, 4 steals) chipped in 3 points each, with Sophia Sweet rounded out the scoring with 2 points (2-2 FT's) and 2 rebounds.
The JV ladies are off until next Tuesday when they will travel with the girls varsity to take on Perry. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM.

Marauders Win: 36 - 13
The JV Lady Marauders moved to 7-2 (5-0 MMAC) with a win over the Chesaning Indians 36-13 last night. A total team effort was employed, as great defensive effort, along with all 12 Marauders making their way into the scoring column on the night helped the Marauders hold the Indians at bay.
Collectively OE was able to turn Chesaning over 31 times in the game – including 22 steals – helping lead to some easy buckets that helped get things going – as OE would run out to a 10-4 lead after the 1st quarter, and 21-7 at halftime.
“I feel like we did a great job collectively as a group tonight on both ends of the floor. We had a couple things come up during the game that put some girls into positions they aren’t typically in, and many of them took advantage of those opportunities – which was great to see,” Coach Belill said.
A 6-5 advantage in the 3rd quarter, and 9-1 advantage in the 4th quarter would help seal the victory for the Marauders. Beyond the defensive end, OE assisted on 10/16 made baskets and out rebounded the Indians by a 26-12 advantage.
El Carman led the offensive charge with 8 points on the night, while Mikayla Bashore added 7 points and 4 steals as well. The rest of the scoring was pretty spread out – seeing every other Marauder hit the scoring column.
The remainder of the scoring was as follows: Hailie McCreery 4 points; Tava Kvalevog 3 points; Maddie Thornton 2 points (10 rebounds, 3 steals); Aubrey Kurka 2 points (6 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals); Trinity Ziola 2 points (4 rebounds); Natalie Stoneman 2 points (4 steals); Jenna Tomasek 2 points; Katie Thornton 2 points (3 assists, 2 steals); Haylee Palus 1 point (2 assists, 2 steals); and Sophia Sweet 1 point (2 assists, 2 steals).
Action picks back up on Thursday for the JV Lady Marauders, as they’ll welcome the Byron Eagles to town for a 5:30 PM tipoff.
JV Lady Marauders Defeat Eagles for 2nd Time in a Week

| Brandon Belill
Marauders Win: 19 - 14
Linden was a last second home game last Tuesday due to Byron canceling – with plans made that if either team ran into cancelations moving forward there could be a potential rematch. Unbenounced to either team, that rematch would take place only 3 days later, in Linden, after both teams had their opponents cancel out on them for Thursday and Friday.
Despite a slow start, the JV Lady Marauders were able to once again top the Eagles 19-14 to move to 6-2 (4-0 MMAC). Neither team could find much flow throughout the game – with OE turning the ball over 35 times, while Linden stayed step-for-step with 31 turnovers.
“It was a crazy, chaotic, emotional week to say the least,” said Coach Belill. “Despite everything going on, the girls played hard and stuck it out until the end. It wasn’t pretty by any means, but we got the job done, and I couldn’t be prouder as a coach of these girls for how they handled all the ups and downs this week threw at them.”
Ovid-Elsie would turn a 2-6 1st quarter disadvantage into a 13-6 halftime lead – as the 2nd quarter most resembled the game of basketball for the Marauders. Following that, both teams continued their game of “hot potato” – causing things to stay interesting until the very end.
Coach Belill added, “Playing a Division 1 school is always a challenge – but to play them twice in the same week and come out both times with a win – that’s a huge credit to our girls.”
Aubrey Kurka (5 rebounds) and Haylee Palus (6 steals, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks) led OE with 4 points each. Tava Kvalevog (5 rebounds, 3 steals) and Trinity Ziola (3 rebounds) followed with 3 points each, while Maddie Thornton (2 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals), El Carman (2 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists), and Natalie Stoneman (1 point, 3 steals) rounded out the scoring for the Marauders.
Barring anymore unforeseen circumstances, the JV Lady Marauders will pick up action again on Monday, January 24th when they travel to Chesaning for a 5:30 PM tipoff.

Marauders Win: 36 - 29
After a week and a half that seemed to be a rerun from the 2020-21 season - with 3 games being canceled or postponed due to COVID - the JV Lady Marauders finally got back into action against the visiting Linden Eagles. While the game itself was a last-second addition, the extra practice time showed, as the ladies put together their most complete game yet this season topping the Eagles 36-29 to move to 5-2 (4-0 MMAC).
The Lady Marauders pressure on the defensive end helped set the tone for the contest throughout - producing 20 steals on 31 Eagle turnovers. Offensively, the ladies also ramped up their intensity and aggressiveness, while assisting on 11 of 15 made shots from the field.
"I'd say this was our most complete game yet," stated Coach Belill. "Despite the down time for the couple of weeks, the ladies have been putting in the work, and it really showed here tonight."
While the hoop seemed to have a lid on it for the 1st quarter (OE led just 3-2 after the first 8 minutes), they blew that open by scoring 12 points in the 2nd quarter and 18 points in the 3rd quarter.
El Carman (16 pts, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 blocks), Haylee Palus (8 pts, 9 steals, 5 assists), and Maddie Thornton (2 pts, 11 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists) led the way for OE tonight - but the defensive pressure, execution, and ball movement by the entire team tonight was a testament to their focus and drive.
Ovid-Elsie's scoring was rounded out by Natalie Stoneman (3 pts), Hailie McCreery (2 pts), Aubrey Kurka (2 pts, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks), Trinity Ziola (2 pts, 3 rebounds), and Tava Kvalevog (1 point).
Thursday will bring about the JV Girls' next game - as they'll travel to Montrose for a 5:30 PM tipoff.
JV Girls Defeat Hornets to Move to 4-2

Marauders Win: 26 - 24
A long, snowy drive was worth it last night, as the JV Lady Marauders were able to defeat the New Lothrop Hornets 26-24 to move to 4-2 (3-0 MMAC). After coming out to a fast start – building a 10-4 1st quarter advantage – foul trouble hampered some of OE’s starters intermittently throughout the night. That, a lot of turnovers, and struggling to find the bottom of the hoop for much of the 2nd quarter led to the Hornets racing back to take a 14-16 lead at halftime.
“Going into halftime, we weren’t happy with our execution on offense or the 2nd chance points we were giving up. I give the girls all the credit, though - they cleaned it up in the 2nd half and held strong in a close game. This is one of those nights that could have easily turned for the worst at any point,” Coach Belill added, “but the girls stuck in there the whole night and were able to pull out the win.”
The 2nd half saw the Marauders regroup and start to pick away at the Hornet’s zone defense more, as both teams went into the final stanza tied at 18. Natalie Stoneman did an excellent job coming off the bench defensively as she continually harassed the Hornet’s point guard. The Marauders took the final lead of the night with two minutes left in regulation to seal the victory.
Aubrey Kurka led all OE scorers with 10 pts (11 rebs), while El Carman (9 rebs, 6 steals) and Natalie Stoneman (2 steals) both chipped in 6 pts each. Tava Kvalevog rounded out the scoring with 4 pts (2 rebs). Maddie Thornton also had herself quite the night despite remaining out of the scoring column, as she pulled down 11 rebounds along with adding 5 steals.
The JV Lady Marauders pick up action again next Monday, January 11th at home against the Montrose Rams. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
JV Lady Marauders Move to 3-2

Marauders Win: 38 - 7
After a long bus ride, a game that resembled football at times, and ultimately a power outage, the JV Lady Marauders came out on top 38-7 against the Lakeville Falcons to move to 3-2 (2-0 MMAC) on the season. Although the game got physical at times, OE's ladies never backed down and stood their ground.
"It was a physical game throughout," added Coach Belill, "but I was proud of our toughness and how we continued to work on executing better on both ends of the floor." OE's defense set the tone, turning the Falcons over 26 times on the shortened night. With only a minute or two left in the 3rd quarter, the power went out. Both coaches and Lakeville's AD - taking the score and gameplay into account - agreed to call the game as it was at that point in favor of OE - as the restoration time for power was well beyond a reasonable length to wait.
The Lady Marauders were led in scoring by Haylee Palus with 8 pts (4 steals) and Aubrey Kurka with 6 pts (7 rebounds). OE's scoring was rounded out by Natalie Stoneman (5 pts, 5 steals), El Carman (4 pts, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals), Mikayla Bashore (4 pts), Tava Kvalevog (3 pts, 4 rebounds), Hailie McCreery (2 pts, 5 rebounds), and Trinity Ziola (4 rebounds), Katie Thornton, and Sophia Sweet all with 2 points.
This win moves the JV Lady Marauders into the new year, as they won't pick back up action until Thursday, January 6th at New Lothrop (7PM tipoff).
JV Lady Marauders Down Durand

Marauders Win: 40 - 13
The JV Lady Marauders took to the road to face the Railroaders of Durand and came out on top 40-13 to open up conference play. Effort and energy was there all night for OE, as they sprinted out to a commanding 22-0 lead before the Railroaders would log a point. "Our girls came out of the gates energized on the defensive end," Coach Belill stated, "which allowed us to get some early points in transition. The ladies also moved the ball very well tonight and played unselfish basketball."

Marauders Lose: 34 - 43
Bath's JV came to town on Thursday night and quickly jumped out with the lead and never looked back enroute to a 34-43 OE loss. A 10-17 1st quarter in favor of Bath was slowed to just allowing 10 points in the 2nd quarter to OE's 7, leaving OE down 16-27 at the half.
"Bath's press caught us off guard a little bit, we got caught out of position a few too many times, and we struggled to rebound overall," Coach Belill stated post game. It was a slow 3rd quarter that helped put the final nail in the coffin for the Lady Marauders, though, as the Bees poured on 11 more. Belill added, "We had a lot of positive things that we did, but we need to work on correcting the recurring mistakes." OE ended up outscoring Bath 12-5 in the final stanza.
On a brighter note, El Carman almost single-handedly kept the Marauders in the game, leading with a team high 21 pts (7-7 FT's), 2 steals and 2 rebs. Aubrey Kurka added 4 pts and 6 rebs, while Hailie McCreery, Mikayla Bashore (4 rebs), Haylee Palus (2 steals), and Tava Kvalevog all added 2 pts, while Trinity Ziola rounded out the scoring with 1 point from the charity stripe.
The loss moves the JV Lady Marauders to 0-2 on the season. Action picks back up on Tuesday, December 7 as the Quakers of Lansing Eastern come to town. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM.

The JV Lady started out the season against the Ionia Bulldogs with a tight-fought loss, 26-27. Both teams struggled to find the bottom of the net off of open looks at times, but in the end it was untimely mistakes that came back to bite OE in the end. "We came out with great energy," stated Coach Belill, "but we weren't able to maintain it throughout - and in the end Ionia was able to capitalize off our errors."
The loss moves the JV Lady Marauders to 0-1 on the young season, with action picks back up on Thursday, as OE will welcome the Bath Bees for a 5:30 PM JV tip off.
