Marauders Lose: -
The girls cross country team began their championship season in style. They dominated the small school division at the Greater Flint Championships, winning the title by over 30 points. They were lead by freshman Clarissa Baese who ran 20:38, which, not only, took 2nd in the division but also made her the 10th fastest runner in Ovid Elsie girls cross country history. She was followed by Piper White who took 3rd in the divsion. Alexis Spitzley (who ran the whole race with only 1 shoe) took 5th in the division to also by first team all area. The top 5 was rounded out by Kaia Spiess (10th), and Audrey Bensinger 13th). They both were 2nd team all area.

The Girls Cross Country team finished their invitational portion at Taymouth Park outside of Birch Run. They finished by taking home some hardware, securing a 4th place finish in the 22 team field. They were lead by Freshman Clarrisa Baese who had a massive PR and took 9th in the field. She was closely followed by Alexis Spitzley in 10th. The other medalist were Piper White in 40th and Kaia Spiess in 44th. Audrey Bensinger closed out the top 5 in 55th.

The Girls Varsity cross country team traveled to the Chesaning Showboat park for their 2nd league meet of the season. They won the meet to put them in a dominate position going into the 3rd league meet. The Marauders were lead by Alexis Spitzley who the meet in a season's best of 21:09. She was fallowed by Piper White who took second. The big 3 were rounded out by Clarrisa Baese who took 3rd. The rest of the top 5 was rounded out by Kaia Spiess who took 8th and Madison Thornton who took 11th.

The Girls Varsity Cross Country team won the first MMAC league meet of the season with a team score 24 points. The girls were lead by Piper White who won the first jamboree. She was fallowed by Alexis Spitzley who took 3rd, Clarrisa Baese in 4th, and Madison Thornton who took 7th. Kaia Spiess rounded out the top 5 by taking 11th.

The Ovid Elsie Girls Cross Country team competed on Saranac this past Wednesday and took 3rd place in the 10 team field. They were lead by Piper White, and Alexis Spitzley who took 9th and 10th overall in the meet. They were supported by Clarissa Baese and Kaia Spiess who both also made the podium finishing 18th and 27th respectively. The top 5 was closed out by Madison Thornton who took 32nd.

The Ovid Elsie Girls went to Happy Acres farm north of Webberville for their second meet of the season. They competed well and took 4th out of the 19 teams invited. They were lead by Piper White who took 14th. She was followed by Alexis Spitzley who took 19th. The top 5 were rounded out by Clarissa Baese (23rd), Madison Thornton, (24th), and Kaia Spiess who took 25th. They all were among the medalist.

The Ovid Elsie Girls Varsity Team was at St John's for an under the lights meet to kick off their 2022 season. The Marauders ran hard to 5th in the 15 team meet, finishing 1 point behind Division 3,19th ranked Clare. They were lead by Sophomore Piper White, and Senior Alexis Spitzley who both got on the podium, taking 10th and 15th respectively. They were supported by Kaia Spiess who took 29th, Audrey Bensinger in 41st, and Madision Thornton in 47th. The top 7 was rounded out by Isabella Loynes and Clarissa Baese.
