Marauders Win: 14 - 8
Ovid-Elsie Marauders traveled to Atwood Stadium in Flint to take on the Flint Powers Catholic Junior Varsity Football team on Thursday, October 22nd. While the Marauders demonstrated an early ability to move the ball, a costly turnover in the first quarter led to a 8 point advantage for the Chargers. It would turn into a defensive battle from there and the Marauders would not break as they not only kept Powers out of the end zone, but managed a late game safety by Hunter Bates and Cohen Brown to secure the Marauder win. Two long and timely passes from Sophomore Colin Veith to fellow Sophomore Braxton Stenger would be enough to give OE an advantage on the score board. However, it was the Offensive line that not only managed to protect Veith from the Chargers Rushing attack but established a strong run presence that sucked in the Charger secondary. Making both of the Touch Down Passes possible and leading to an upset victory for your Ovid Elsie Marauders. Starting lineman include: Sophomores Austin Darling, Hayden Pontak, Kadon Chapko and Kole Middleton, as well as Freshman Hunter Bates, and Kamryn Middleton.
Leading Passer: Colin Veith
Leading Receiver: Braxton Stenger
Leading Rusher: Cohen Tyler
Leading in Tackles: Beau Price and Cohen Brown
