MAAC Meet #1 at Chesaning (Check athletic.net for all results)

The first of 3 MAAC meets of the Track & Field season was held at Chesaning on Wednesday. The boys finished 3rd of the 8 teams.  Points were given to the top 8 in each event (individual and relays).  Earning points for OE were:

8th Place - Cole Workman 800, Ryan Gavenda 3200, Corbin Kelley Shot Put, Austin Darling Discus

7th Place - Nick Long 300 Hurdles

6th Place - Nick Long Long Jump, 400 Relay (Eddy Evans, Isaac Orta, Bruce Thornton, Christain

5th Place - Ryan Gavenda  High Jump, Jacob Schaub 400, Schmidtfranz 200

4th Place - Kelley Discus, Andrew hal  Pole Vault, Dillon Renfroe 800

3rd Place - Clay Wenzlick High Jump, 800 relay (Eddy Evans, Schaub, Gavyn Leavitt, Schmidtfranz)

2nd Place - Leavitt 400, 3200 Relay (Schaub, Long, Renfroe, Leavitt) 1600 Relay (Same as 3200 Relay)

Although we had no first places, we had some very strong performances by many, especially our young kids.  Dillon Renfroe, Nick Long and Andre Hall and Corbin Kelley had some exceptional performances in their events were they had personal records.  Our distance runners of Ryan Gavenda, Luke Spitzley, Austin Smith and Cole Workman who did not get many points for us improved greatly.  I am very happy with our performances and we still have a lot of room for improvement.
