Chesaning scored nine runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Ovid-Elsie Varsity Marauders 16-1 on Monday.

A single by Olyvia Coon put Ovid-Elsie put the Varsity Marauders on the board in the top of the first.

Chesaning flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring nine runs on four hits to take a 9-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.

Chesaning scored seven runs on three hits in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored two runs, T Maier drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored three runs, and Abby Meder doubled, scoring one run. 

Audrie VanDeusen took the loss for the Marauders going one-third of an inning, giving up nine runs (zero-earned) on three hits, striking out one and walking four.  

Coon led the Ovid-Elsie Marauders with one run batted in.   The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day.  Maddisyn Miller led Ovid-Elsei with two hits in two at bats.
