OE Marauders stole the lead late in the game in a 25-15 victory over Merrill on Thursday. The game was tied at 14 with OE Marauders batting in the bottom of the fifth when Gracie Schultz doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

OE Marauders collected 15 hits and Merrill had ten in the high-scoring affair.

Merrill got things moving in the first inning, when Thelen doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

After Merrill scored five runs in the top of the fourth, OE Marauders answered with five of their own. Merrill scored when Thelen singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Wale singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and Nieczwiecki doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. OE Marauders then answered when Tori Maynard drew a walk, scoring one run, Allyson Pokorny singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, and Olivia Burt doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

OE Marauders scored seven runs in the second inning. OE Marauders batters contributing to the big inning included Jolene Nash, Zoe Baiz, Ashland Particka, Burt, and Kaitlyn Fry, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Schultz pitched OE Marauders to victory. The pitcher lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and nine runs while striking out four. Skylar Bowen threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Kumar took the loss for Merrill. The pitcher went four innings, allowing 14 runs on 12 hits and striking out three.

OE Marauders tallied 15 hits on the day. Schultz, Pokorny, Nash, Maynard, and Burt all managed multiple hits for OE Marauders. Schultz went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead OE Marauders in hits. OE Marauders stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Pokorny led the way with two.

Merrill scattered ten hits in the game. Wiley and Thelen each collected multiple hits for Merrill.
