OE Marauders stole the lead late in the game in an 8-6 victory over Durand on Monday. With two outs in the top of the eighth Kaitlyn Fry singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as OE Marauders collected ten hits and Durand nine in the high-scoring affair
OE Marauders opened up scoring in the first inning.
Durand scored three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Durand was led by Patterson and Gilson, all driving in runs in the inning.
Fry earned the victory in the pitcher's circle for OE Marauders. The pitcher went eight innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out five.
Gilson took the loss for Durand. Gilson surrendered seven runs on ten hits over eight innings, striking out two.
OE Marauders totaled ten hits. Olivia Burt, Fry, Zoe Baiz, and Maddisyn Miller each had multiple hits for OE Marauders. Burt went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead OE Marauders in hits.
Durand racked up nine hits in the game. Garske, Gilson, and Robinson all had multiple hits for Durand.
