Bad Inning Costs Ovid-Elsie In Loss To Byron (5/3/21, Game 2)

Ovid-Elsie was down 3-2 going into the 4th inning when the wheels fell off, allowing Byron to score 7 runs in the bottom of the 4th. 6 walks, 1 HBP, 2 errors, and a double in the inning led to the 7 Byron runs. The Marauders were able to scratch across 1 more run in the top of the 5th but then the game was called due to darkness.

O-E only managed three hits at the plate, one each from Braxton Stenger, Jacob Tomasek, and Carson Gregory. Keigan Ormes and Kayden Leslie both walked twice.

On the mound Carson Gregory took the loss giving up just 3 hits but walked 7 and gave up 8 runs (6 earned). Dominic Wilkinson was able to come on in relief and get 2 quick strikeouts to finally end the 4th inning.
