The Ovid-Elsie Lady Marauders picked up a conference road win at Chesaning Friday night, 70-38.  Ovid-Elsie remains unbeaten on the season at 13-0, 9-0 MMAC.  The Indians fell to 9-5 (7-4 MMAC)

"Tonight was one of the most complete games we’ve played. Our defense was stout, offensively we shot well and it was a total team effort, said Head Coach Ryan Cunningham.  "Our girls studied film, knew the game plan, practiced hard all week and delivered. I couldn’t be more proud of them."

The Lady Marauders held a slight 13-5 lead at the end of the first stanza but used a 26-10 second quarter and a 23-8 third quarter to put the Indians at bay.  Chesaning held a 15-8 scoring advantage in the fourth stanza after a running clock was initiated.

Ava Bates had a team high and game high 16 points, notched 4 steals and handed out 2 assists.  Caitlyn Walter added 14 points, 7 assists and 3 steals while Evalyn Cole also dropped 14 points, grabbed 9 steals and had 4 assists.  Kiah Longoria added 8 points and 3 steals, Braeden Tokar 7 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists, Kaylee Hall with 5 points, 2 assists and 2 steals, Braylon Byrnes 4 points, and Rylee Lewis 2 points to round out the Marauder scoring.  Hailee Campbell led on the boards with 8 caroms.

Ovid-Elsie handed out 22 assists on 27 made baskets while turning the Indians over 36 times which included 26 Marauder steals.  Ovid-Elsie shot 53% on the night from the floor including 5 made three-pointers in the first half.

The Lady Marauders will have a tough road schedule next week as they travel to Montrose on Monday, LakeVille on Wednesday and Durand on Friday.  Monday's game against Montrose will be a JV/Varsity girls makeup.
