Kiah Longoria paced the Ovid-Elsie Lady Marauders with 17 points and 6 steals as Ovid-Elsie ran past the Perry Ramblers, 66-15 and improved to 12-0.

Ovid-Elsie opened up with a 25-8 first quarter and followed it up with a 19-3 second quarter to lead 44-11 at halftime.

"I thought we got back to business tonight and played hard full court and in our half court defense," said Head Coach Ryan Cunningham.  "On top of that, I really thought our offensive execution was pretty good tonight."

The Lady Marauders shot nearly 51% from the field and used a 22-4 second half to keep the Ramblers at bay including holding Perry scoreless in the fourth quarter.

"It doesn't matter what the scoreboard reads, we still have things we want to accomplish and things to work on  to get better each night.  I'm proud of our kids for keeping up their intensity the whole game because we have been lacking in that area a bit lately," noted Cunningham.

Caitlyn Walter (3 assists and 4 steals) and Braeden Tokar (4 assists and 3 steals) both added 12 points for OE, while Ava Bates added 6 points, 3 assists and 3 steals.  Braylon Byrnes chipped in with 5 points, while Evalyn Cole (5 assists and 7 steals), Kaylee Hall (5 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists) and Hailee Campbell (3 assists) each added 4 points and Katie Lorio knocked down a pair of free throws to round out the Marauder scoring.

Ovid-Elsie handed out 22 assists on 29 made baskets and collected 28 steals on 45 Perry turnovers.  The Ramblers held a 25-18 rebound advantage.

Ovid-Elsie will be back into league play on Friday night as the Lady Marauders will travel to Chesaning for a conference showdown at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys varsity at 7:00 p.m.
