On Tuesday we had the pleasure of playing first in a triple header with both the girls varsity as well as the boys varsity teams. We were sluggish coming out to start the game but managed to take a 14-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter we got going a little smoother and took a 12 point lead going into half time (28-16). Starting the second half has usually been a weak link for us but for this game we held our own however we were outscored 13-17 in the third quarter. However in the fourth quarter we were able to put them away early and outscored them 18-4 for a 59-37 win, which brings our record to 4-4 on the year. We were led by Jake Bowen with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 2 steals. Braxton O'Bryant had 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals. Clay Powell played huge and ended with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Jayce Herblet had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Javen Belill ended up with 7 points, 3 steals and 2 assists. Kaleb Veith had 6 points and 5 rebounds. Joe "Fear the Beard" Bancroft finished with 4 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Joe Zuniga had 3 points to go with 4 rebounds. To close out the scoring for us was Clayton Fruchey with 2 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. We are off until 1/19/23 when we travel to Montrose to take on the Rams.
